NFPA 1001 and NFPA 1072…or 472…or 473?

Ok…yes, we will get you certified to be a professional firefighter. So, what does our course include and what do YOU need to become a professional firefighter? I can tell you this. If you complete our program, you will most likely be at the top of the basic certification ladder as far as requirements go for many US States and other countries, Canada especially. Yes…we certify more Canadian citizens than any other students. If you complete Training Development Group Fire Academy successfully, you will walk away with NFPA 1001 Firefighter I and Firefighter II.

You will also walk away with Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations. What NFPA certification is that by the way?

Is it NFPA 1072? NFPA 470? NFPA 473?

Well allow me to “retort”. If you go visit the NFPA website and get in the know…. (This is the reason you will see our program offering something some may think is “wrong”.) NFPA 470 is the most recent (2022) condensation by NFPA that covers the following:

• NFPA 470, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents.

• NFPA 473, Standard for Competencies for EMS Personnel Responding to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents

• NFPA 1072, Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications

OK!!! I know some of you will continue into your career and become “glow worms” as some of us call it (Hazmat Tech Level). That’s OK. We need you!
